Been a hue User for the last 8 years until last month when it all just stopped working when there new hue pro hub came…
Anyway I bought the M3 hub 7 gu10 lights 1 p2 sensor and pf2 presence sensor.
Everything is set up and updated. But for the life of me i can seem to get a basic lighting automation to work… really simple i like to walk into kitchen and those 7 little gu10 light bulbs to fire up. And then i leave to room for then to turn off… but no it been hell… sometimes they come on and other time no…
I have reached out to Aqara and the sent me this…
Thank you for reaching out to us, and we apologize for the inconvenience you’re experiencing with setting up your automation.
Based on your setup with the Hub M3, GU10 lights, Motion Sensor P2, and FP2 sensor, here’s how you can create the automation you desire:
For Motion Sensor P2 automation:
Open the Aqara app and go to the “Automation” section
Click “+” in the upper right corner
In the “IF” section:
Select your Motion Sensor P2 > “Motion is detected”
In the “THEN” section:
Select your GU10 lights > “Turn on”
For FP2 sensor automation (to turn lights off when leaving):
In the “Automation” section, click “+”
In the “IF” section:
Select your FP2 > “Zone Detection” > “Zone” > “Leave”
In the “THEN” section:
Select your GU10 lights > “Turn off”
And this dont work… i feel light just returning the whole lot…
As anyone just got a very easy automation, I can follow or a golden retriever could follow.
Many thanks

These automations they gave you are simple enough. Not sure we could give you something simpler.
Have you identified which part of the automation isn’t working?
Are the sensors consistently detecting motion and presence?
Or are the bulbs not responding?

Everything is working…
I just cant get automation to work correctly. Sometimes they turn on and other time notting. And then they dont turn off.
Hmm, what means sometimes it turns on the other time not…? So this means that you walk inside and outside this area often in a short time?

Ok, I understand that you are saying all of the devices individually are working. But when used in the automation something is not working.
Can you post screenshots of your automations?
If you click preview on the automation does it all work?

Hello, welcome to the forum and the Aqara club.
Since you are a beginner, believe me (I was too) it seems complicated and chaotic at first. My recommendations, start with the simplest automations like if present then turn on. If not present then turn off. Then over time you will learn the fp2 sensor more thoroughly and start setting up zone automations. But again, start with the simplest. You can watch my lesson with lighting devices, make a copy of the examples given for yourself. In a word, this is a fascinating world of automation. Automation 2.0. Lesson 3. Controlling lighting devices

You don’t need the same devices in When and If. These are simple automations. Remove the optional IFs.
What happens when you run these automations? I’d guess it fails at the second step.
Also - you’re only using the P2 Motion sensor, not the FP2?
If you see my first post Aqara told me to use IF… is this what caused the issue’s?
I understand that as a beginner, I am “loading” you a lot, but read lessons 1,2. And also the beginning of 13. This is so that you understand the algorithm of automation 2.0. After understanding, you will look at everything with different eyes.
Yes only using p2 as there been slow issues which ive seen on YouTube.
No, this is not a problem, you can also control through IF, but it is more complicated, you need to clearly understand the algorithm. This will be enough for you for now
For information, slow transfer is due to two reasons. 1. Internal network problem. 2. Random cloud automation (yes, this happens). This understanding of the problem helps in eliminating it
This is the difference between Automations 1.0 and 2.0. It shouldn’t matter for you as a new user, but older docs might confuse users or even support agents.
1.0 was just IF-> Then.
2.0 is When → If → Then.
In your case you have the same devices in both When and If. This is unnecessary for what you are trying to do.
Let us know if you get better results.
