Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out for help with a problem I’m having with notifications not showing up on my Android phones.
I have two Samsung phones with the latest software, and my Aqara devices also have the latest firmware, with the app being on its newest version. Despite this, I’m not receiving any notifications on either of my phones.
Interestingly, notifications work perfectly on my iPhone.
I have already taken the following steps to try and solve the problem:
- Notification settings for the Aqara app on Android are enabled.
- The Aqara app has been added to the exceptions list for app sleeping/optimization.
- This issue affects all types of notifications, including those from the app itself, services, devices, and alarms.
- I have already tried clearing the app’s cache, reinstalling it, and restarting my phones, all without success.
Has anyone else encountered a similar issue and knows how to fix it? I would be grateful for any help.
What version of Aqara home is it? A complete reinstall of the app once helped me in this case.
Have you gone into these settings in the app?
Thank you @gafich10 for your reply. My Aqara app is 5.2.9 version and I don’t see newer one in Google Play. The menu page you provided seems to not have relation to notifications at a first sight. Should I look into some specific option under System Permission to be able to see notifications?
Sorry, I showed the wrong window.
So on Push Notifications screen I have everything enabled except Ad Notifications. I also followed instructions under link on that screen for case 2.a unfortunately without any success on both Samsung Z Fold 7 and Galaxy 25 Ultra
Did you reboot the phone?
Yes I tried to clean the app’s cache, reinstalling it, and restarting my phones, all without success.
Do a small notification check. 1. Make a test automation with a push notification, for example, if two different switches are turned on (requiredly two lines in the automation) then a push notification. 2. Launch the Aqara home application and minimize it (do not close it, but minimize it). 3. Create conditions for starting automation for a push notification.
Think I did it too… I’ve added Push Notification action to the button. And with minimized Aqara Home. Notification appears on iPhone but not on Samsung devices. I also tried to log out on iPhone but still nothing.
If you don’t receive a notification from the test automation, check the automation log to see if it fired. The automation log can be found here.
Log shows it was successfully triggered:

Unfortunately, I don’t have a Samsung phone, I said everything I could recommend from my experience. You can still contact the support service, maybe this is a system problem for this type of phone. When contacting, please indicate your account, phone type, phone version and Aqara home version.

Hello @michal3
In order for notifications to work, you need to give them permission in the Android system itself in the settings of your phone
Thank you @Raman.V for your response! I’m not sure what you mean by give permission. I do have notifications enabled in Android system as I mentioned in the first place so if I missed something else I’ll be grateful for help
Summarizing methods I’ve applied:
- Phone restarted
- Notifications enabled (both in Android system settings - all categories, and in Aqara Home)
- App reinstalled
- Cache of Aqara Home cleared
- Automatic Aqara Home auto turning off (battery optimization) disabled in Android system
- Adding and testing automation with Push Notification action (Notification visible in Aqara Home logs and on iOS but not as Android notifications)

check also the energy consumption mode (energy economy) there are also points limiting the usage from applications.
Indeed - this is what I meant by Automatic Aqara Home auto turning off (battery optimization) disabled in Android system which maybe was not clear but it is this screen:
I use an iPhone, so I don’t have such problems, but I know for sure that the options I described should help solve this problem. If notifications do not work as before, I recommend contacting the aqara support service.

Thank you
If you are sure it means that screen I’ve posted doesn’t correspond to setting you mentioned - could you please help me to understand where I can find this certain option? Unfortunately translation from Russian seems to not work for me. Do you have example in English? I also contacted with support and waiting for help.
I thought you had this setting turned on by default.
