Thermostat W600 Test and Bugs

Thank you for the opportunity to test the thermostat. :tpgzm5vihhpjxbbrfjn6lv_11181:

If you find any errors, please post them in the comments below. I’ll pin them to the post so the developers can easily see what needs to be fixed.
Thanks for your help.

Unresolved:

  • +1 error: Create a Device Group error is (Network-302)
  • +1 error: After enabling “Valve Detection Notification,” a malfunction occurs after a while. You don’t receive any notifications, the device displays an exclamation point in a triangle :warning:, and app control becomes unavailable. However, Smart Schedules continue to work.
Removing and reconnecting the device in the Aqara Home app resolves this issue.
  • +1 error: If you leave the device alone and do not control it through the app, then after about 4-5 days the device becomes offline and it is no longer possible to control it remotely.

Solved
error: Screen rotation doesn’t work.
error: child protection doesn’t work through the Aqara Home app.
What helped:
hard reset, double-clicking the device, and then holding it for 10 seconds on the third click. After adding the new device, both child lock and screen rotation started working.

Hello @UnrealAbyss Judging by the screenshots, your device is in thread mode and won’t connect via Zigbee. You need to change the protocol to Zigbee.

Aqara is constantly working to improve the translation. Thank you for your attention.
This was already taken into account at the preliminary testing stage.

That’s exactly what I’m writing about, error, it’s impossible to switch to zigbee.

Record a short video of the protocol change process and post it here.

Nothing else, everything is the same as in the screenshots.

What version of the app are you using? Have you restarted your phone? Is it possible to test this on another phone?

Perform a hard reset of your device

I have exactly the same error. Unable to switch to Zigbee. It seems, that all who received device so far are experiencing the same.

What do you mean by hard reset of device? Which device? Phone or Thermostat? How to do it?

Update the firmware in Thread mode.
What hub are you using?

Factory reset did not change a thing.

I have M3 hub, 4.3.9_0015
Using android phone.

While switching to zigbee it gives error 30204
While trying to connect via thread it gives error 10024

Issue seems to be confirmed by few users in original W600 thread.

UPDATE:

  • finally connected via Thread. Not sure if that was the issue, but it worked when I manually entered the pairing code, QR code not worked.
  • firmware version is 0.1.1.0. There is no update available.

Can anyone who managed to connect it via Thread confirm that the temperature compensation only allows whole-number settings (aside from delays and unclear feedback about whether changes were applied), and that .5 settings are ignored even though they appear in the list?

How can I check this?

There is option Temperature Compensation in Function Settings.
Funny situation — changing the language in the Aqara app seems to have fixed the issue.

Ahh, when selecting and saving.

Hey all,
How to update and bind it by Zigbee
as far as I can remember - the best way to switch and update to the latest Zigbee version (was after you deleted the W600 from Matter and from the Aqara app) :

  • go to the accessories list and start adding it by Matter
  • then you can choose which protocol you want - Thread or -Zigbee
  • when you choose Zigbee ( and the W600 is blinking - it´s maybe necessary to press the top button for 10 sec) then the app starts to update the W600 with the latest Zigbee version
  • When its updated , you easily can add it to Zigbee

I know its not the best and logical way to bind to Zigbee - but for me it works

Found another bug:
Screen rotation isn’t working. Check it yourself.
And child protection doesn’t work through the Aqara Home app.
