U200 - homekit key not working after keypad battery update

Hi, I had everything working correctly; U200 connected to the app and to my house’s homekit. The home keys worked very well for each member of the family on both phone and watch. I have fingerprints connected and everything seems to work well.

However, I needed to change the batteries on the keypad, so I did so following the rules. After changing and reinstalling the keypad, my homekit key no longer works, even if I open the key on the phone and hold it to the keypad.

I have access through the app and access through the home app on my iphone (and can lock/unlock with Siri).

I do not have an Agara Matter Controller, nor do I plan for one.

How can I reestablish the home key (I do not have a “Restore home key” in the settings for the lock in the Apple Home App or anywhere else I can find it as stated here: U200 v80 Firmware: Matter Reset & Home Key Recovery Tips)

Sadly, you’ll likely have to perform a factory reset to achieve this. I haven’t had the exact same issue, but when I lost my HomeKey, a simple reset was the cure!

May I have your Aqara account? We can provide you V84 firmware, see if it would solve the issue

Please go to the Aqara Home app>Profile>firmware>“…” on the right up corner>enable beta firmware>then go to the U200 settings page to update firmware

Does this have any chance of clearing out my preset users and fingerprints?

Hi Thank you for providing those details. Based on your situation, please try the following steps on your keypad to re-establish the connection to Apple Home:

  1. Press and hold the Keypad confirmation button (with a check mark) for about 5 seconds until you hear a beep.
  2. Enter your Aqara administrator password on the keypad.
  3. Press button 4 once. This will reset the binding to the Matter ecosystem and should allow you to re-add the Home Key.

After completing these steps, please try adding the Home Key again through the Apple Home app. This process should resolve the issue and keep your aqara users and fingerprints .

Thank you! That worked (there was also a software update, so I did that at the same time.

Also worked for me. If you have a matter hub aqara M3 you need to : 1) reset 2) link matter with aqara hub M3 3) link with apple home
