U200 v80 Firmware: Matter Reset & Home Key Recovery Tips

Hi everyone,
If you’ve updated your U200 to the v80 firmware and noticed that your Home Key has disappeared or stopped working, here are a few steps that may help you recover it:

:left_speech_bubble: IF: You have previously enabled the pull spring function
Please restart Pull Spring function after updating to ensure the door lock operates normally.

:left_speech_bubble: IF: Upgrading from v78 to v80
You’ll need to reset Matter and rejoin the Matter ecosystem manually after the update.

:left_speech_bubble: IF: Upgrading from v65–v77 to v80
If you’re running into issues, try this workaround:
(a) Remove the keyboard’s battery
(b) Disconnect the Apple hub’s power (HomePod Mini / Apple TV etc.)
(c) Wait for about 1 minute, then power everything back and try again.

:left_speech_bubble: IF: Missing Home Key card after the update
If your Home Key card disappears, update your iPhone and HomePod to iOS/tvOS 18.4.1 or later. Then, use the new feature called “Restore Home Key Access” to bring it back.
(Home app> U200’s setting> Manage Access> Restore Home Key Access)

:left_speech_bubble:To reset Matter without affecting your Aqara data (fingerprints, passwords, etc.):

  1. Hold the lock key for 5 seconds until you hear a voice prompt.
  2. Enter your Aqara admin password.
  3. Press (4) to reset the bound Matter ecosystem.

@KinseyCreateGoods Thank you for sharing these helpful tips on handling issues with the U200 after updating to the v80 firmware! It’s great to see such detailed steps for different scenarios. The process of resetting Matter and rejoining the ecosystem manually after upgrading from v78 to v80 is particularly useful. Also, the workaround for those upgrading from v65–v77 is a handy trick to remember.

For those who find their Home Key card missing after the update, your suggestion of updating devices to iOS/tvOS 18.4.1 or later and using the “Restore Home Key Access” feature is a fantastic addition. This kind of proactive sharing enriches the community and can save users a lot of frustration.

Thanks again for contributing, and please continue to share your insights and experiences with us!

Hello @KinseyCreateGoods,

I’d like to ask you to briefly review the issue at

:left_speech_bubble: IF: Upgrading from v78 to v80
You’ll need to reset Matter and rejoin the Matter ecosystem manually after the update.

Many would like to take this step but do not know to what extent a reset takes place here. According to the instructions, a reset is only possible completely, including all fingerprints and passwords, which is very problematic for larger families to set up everything again.

Hence the question of how to do this correctly without problems, for example with the Aqara M3 or how is it done correctly with the Apple Boarder Thread device?

Because unfortunately it is currently difficult to test the step

Thanks for remain! I will update these on reddit :fist_left:
If you have already set up Aqara Home, you can use the local menu to reset Matter separately. This method will not reset your Aqara user data (such as fingerprints, passwords, and settings):

  1. Press and hold the lock key on the keypad for 5 seconds until you hear a voice prompt
  2. Then enter your Aqara administrator password.
  3. Press key (4) to perform a Matter reset, resetting the already bound Matter ecosystem.

Hello @KinseyCreateGoods , I would like to briefly address this topic again, as many people tell me that pressing 5 seconds does not help. It would only want to lock the door several times but not start a password request.

The manual states on page 4 at the bottom

that there are two versions for resetting the Matter. Once for Aqara Home users and for Matter users (Apple possibly also)

  1. press the confirm button.
  2. for Matter users: Press and hold (3 seconds) the Confirm button
  3. briefly press the Set button on the U200 lock
  4. now briefly press button 4 on the keypad to reset the already bound Matter ecosystem.

Is this correct?

I’ll try to explain it to some people on the German community board and, if necessary, convey it correctly:

Hi , If the user only bound to Matter, you can login to the local settings page by doing the same thing as you said.

Matter Users: Long press (3s) the Confirm Button and press the
“Set” button on the Lock

Thanks for the tips @KinseyCreateGoods . Looking at my logs (and with no hub), it seems I jumped from 77 to 80, yet only resetting Matter made homekey work again.
Removing the keyboard’s battery just made me realize there is an alarm associated which I didn’t know how to stop… (seems by entering admin code in the end? But nothing to prevent it from ringing beforehand)

Hi, you may enter the admin’s fingerprint or password to disarm the alarm. This feature is to prevent other people (neighbor’s kids) from taking your keypad. The keypad becomes unusable until you enter your password.

Thank you @KinseyCreateGoods ! Yes I understand the feature and found it useful… until I could not stop it myself in the app  ) This should be in the user manual

:fist_left: Thank you!
We’ll work on making future manuals more concise yet clear.
The current one is quite lengthy, so we couldn’t cover every detail as we’d like :see_no_evil:.
