Apart from switching the lights, what would be another use case for the sensor? Would it be triggered by pets as well? I haven’t owned a sensor of any type (yet) and I’m wondering if it would be useful for me.
+1 I am waiting for !
Can’t wait for this!
Depends on the calibration, I think. But it’s possible.
I use it mainly for lights, but it can also power on outlets, keep the TV on or the sound system. And as every motion sensor, it can act like a security sensor when you are out of your home and send you a notification.
+1 I’ve been using the FP1E for a while now and love what it does so have very high hopes for this.
I’ve been waiting for the wireless one, cause didn’t want to have a mess with cables, but I also didn’t expect we get 5 in 1, that’s so cool
I hear that. The sleepless nights making maps and trying to figure out rules for automations!
I’m very excited. I’ve been waiting for a company to pick up the Everything Presence one model of sensor and hope that this new device will have similar or better performance. I’ve had trouble getting another pure mmWave based sensor to work perfectly without false positive or negatives.
It looks awesome! Have the FP2, but feel limited with the usb connection
Just curious what the difference will be (in practice) to the FP2. As others have said on this thread, the FP2 work well but does occasionally misfire.
+1000
I’m really excited. I have an unfinished basement with a single outlet. I would love this sensor to automate the lights and keep them on when people are in the basement.
Can’t wait!
So excited, defined worth a try
+1, hope the battery life is truly 1-2 years
It’s possible, those “combo” devices (PiR + mmWave) usually work the same way: PiR detection activates mmWave, but when mmWave detection stops, the sensor goes to sleep until it’s being awaken again by PiR. Maybe someone from Aqara can confirm if that’s the case with FP300
Look like a great add on to home security, cant wait to try.
Not needing a power source is huge, excited to see a new battery operated mmwave sensor available
I was wondering why is there so many people interested in a battery powered one! I currently have the FP2 and after setting it up, I locked it in place to not lose the calibration of my zone settings. What would be your usecase when fixed?
I’m very excited
