This sensor definitely looks promising. Battery power instead of hard wiring will be great.

To quote the press release back in Jan for CES:

“Leveraging both PIR and millimeter wave (mmWave) sensing for precise and prompt detection, the FP300 is among the first battery-operated presence sensors announced on the market. With an extended battery life of up to two years, this compact, wire-free sensor can be placed wherever. Featuring Thread and Zigbee protocols, the FP300 is Matter-enabled and offers future-proofed interoperability across platforms. It also packs independent light, temperature and humidity sensors for ambient sensing, which makes it a highly versatile solution for enhanced energy efficiency, comfort, and security.”

I think we all are here for that now! Lol

Super excited!

I was at CES this year and just happened to be at the Aqara booth at the same time as the SmartHomeSolver Youtuber. A favorite smart home accessories brand combined with a favorite Youtuber all at once. It was awesome.

+1, this is a musthave

I just got the first version to use in my garage. Haven’t got one for the inside specifically due to no battery options. So very excited.

Me, i have twho fp2

:raising_hand_man: I’ve started my journey swapping out my PIR motion sensors with Presense sensors. I can’t wait to utilize this one.

I will pick up a couple! I hope the battery life is decent.

+1, sounds interesting

I already have a single Xiaomi Battery Presence Sensor XMOSB01XS and it does work really well, so I am very curious if Aqara will bring any improvements other than ZigBee/Thread connectivity.

Because it is a MOTION, not PRESENCE Sensor

So excited, because with my FP2 I got some misdetection over time, definetly worth a try with this new model. Can’t wait!

I already have some cheap battery-powered mmWave sensors bought on the orange Chinese platform, but they are sh** Not reliable, detecting motion when there’s no one in the room, not keeping presence etc… Can’t wait to test something from Aqara!!
