I’ve been using the Aqara D200i for two years. For the past two months, my unit has been experiencing the following issues:
The battery drains very quickly; a full charge only lasts 5 days.
Automatic facial recognition isn’t working. You have to press the door panel for the sensor to detect your face to open the door.
My problem was apparently also experienced by other global users, as seen in the link below:
and many more.
I’ve spoken with Edy from Aqara Indonesia about my problem. I’ve tried the steps he recommended, which involved:
Clean the sensor lenses
Clean the battery connector
Unplugging and reconnecting the front and rear door lock panel connector sockets.
Reset and calibrate the face recognition in the unit
Check for the latest firmware update
However, the problem remains unresolved.
Later on, Edy told me that Aqara cannot cover/support my problem because it is considered to be caused by usage and has passed the one-year warranty period. And to get it to function normally again, I have to buy a new door lock unit. Which, in my opinion, is ridiculous.
My unit is installed in a dry area, away from water and sunlight. So, does that mean the quality of Aqara products is that poor, meaning they only last less than two years?
For a product that’s considered quite expensive, I think that’s very bad.
Until now, there has been no solution from Aqara for this problem.
