When I add the Aqara P2 door and window sensor to Apple Home it does not show the battery percentage. This is a problem.
Hi.
If I select the room with the P2 and then press and hold the sensor’s lux value at the top for a few seconds, a window pops up showing the current battery level.
Or is that not what you meant?
Edit: Did you mean the P2 motion and light sensor or the contact sensor?
I think it’s the P2 door sensor
didn’t know there were other P2’s. Edited for clarity. Thanks.
1.0.0.0
I’ve checked to see if there is a firmware upgrade, and no.
I’ve just checked the DCL and found that versions 1.0.1.1 and 1.0.2.0 have been recalled. coletti.robert probably received an update to a newer version earlier.
The same goes for version 1.0.3.0 of the P2 Motion Sensor, which has also been recalled. I don’t know the reason, but you can apparently contact support to ask if the update will be released for your account.
The recalled firmware updates for both devices apparently also include the upgrade from Matter 1.0 to 1.4.
The P2 motion sensor was likely because it was bricking devices. I’ve got one dead on my desk still after one of those updates.
I’m actually on an earlier firmware 0.6.02! Woah. One of those moments I wish Aqara pushed OTA Matter Firmware updates. I can pair it in Aqara home and see if I get an update.
That’s really unfortunate, of course. Something like that really shouldn’t happen. Too bad nothing’s happened in months. It must be a problem that’s hard to fix.
That’s interesting.
In the DCL, it doesn’t start until version 1.0.0.0. And this software version is valid. I would have assumed that this is the software it came with, since no OTA URL has been provided. That’s probably also the reason why it’s not available as Matter firmware via OTA for you.
When I query the firmware information for the Door and Window Sensor P2 via the Aqara Open API, I only receive a response of version 0.9.0.0 (fixing known problems from August 2024). But the file size is stated as 0, which is of course strange.
It would be interesting to know which version you’re getting in the Aqara Home app.
I assume there won’t be an update.
