Just installed my first FP300 in the Aqara App in Thread mode and it is stuck in ‘presence’. The settings are default and firmware latest.
I tried a factory reset to no avail.
The user manual helpfully suggests,
‘6.After installation, the device requires time to fully learn the spatial profile of the new environment.
In cases of significant environmental interference, occasional false alerts may occur during initial use. Allow the device to continue autonomous learning in an unoccupied space to normalize performance. For complex environments where detection performance remains unsatisfactory, try adjusting the installation angle or position to mitigate major interference sources.’
The FP300 is in a small shower room with no interference sources that I am aware of.
I will leave it overnight and then I guess I will have to use zigbee which is annoying.
Experiencing similar issues in my kitchen, never 4 hours, though, is also set up in thread mode. I wish Aqara would be a bit more transparent/detailed about its learning process, especially in thread mode where there isn’t a manual trigger to learn. Like after how long should we start seeing inproved performance? What can we manually do to make that process more accurate?
have the same problem in Zigbee mode: I installed FP300 and created a simple automation “light on via PIR” and “light off when absent” and it’s going crazy. The light turns on and off every minute. Now it’s on and never off again. When I tried to turn off the light using voice control and the kitchen light turned on, I uninstalled the FP300 and restored everything to its original state. I’ll send the scrap back tomorrow. The P2 motion sensors also had such a life of their own…
Any solution to this problem? I have an FP300 (Zigbee) that is struck showing presence when no one is there for several hours. I have tried multiple things, reset the device, switched positions of the sensor, tried playing with the distance of detection, switched on/off AI, tried AI learning but nothing works. Restarting the device clears presence but eventually it gets struck in a while.
There are no obvious sources of interference in my room (such as fans, air conditioners).
Presence and PIR combi, the recommended. With presence, it takes several seconds before the automation triggers, PIR switches immediately. Both turn the light on and off when no one is in the room, until it doesn’t turn off at all. When the respective lamp no longer responded to voice commands, but some other lamps (E27 T2) did, I uninstalled and reinstalled everything.
I tried to swap my stuff to Thread a few days ago (Including the FP300) and experienced the same thing. Almost 0 response, I’ve moved them back to zigbee for now until I can get setup with home assistant.
From what i’m seeing, it looks like those who have been able to connect it via Home Assist on matter are fine. Those using Homekit only or Homekit and Aqara can’t hardly use the sensor.
Mine works fine in zigbee but is brutal on thread. Significantly worse than the FP1E i have.
