Lesson 20_Automation 2.0 lesson 20. Plugin for the Aqara leak sensor, water control in the pool (tank)
Good afternoon.
Today I will supplement my lesson 20.
I want to share automation that will save you an expensive pump from overheating and failure when the water in the well disappears.
To control the On/Off of the water pump, I use Aqara Power Plug H2 EU.
This year is a very dry and sweltering summer.
I have mechanical protection against dry running of the pump, there is no water in the pipe, during operation, the mechanical shutter is released and the pump turns off. Unfortunately, one day, the shutter got clogged over time and stopped working. I accidentally saw this and turned off the water pump in time.
I analyzed the situation, did some research and found the following:
- the water pump works in water, consumption 420-560 W;
- the water pump works without water, consumption drops to 300-380 W.

Based on this, I made an emergency automation of dry running control. At the end of the automation, I gave a push message “there may be no water in the well”.
I will not explain the algorithm of the automation. The automation is 100% working, it has been tested in critical conditions.
