You can’t dial in the settings as much for the light, temperature and humidity sensors, you also can’t choose between PIR and millimetre wave separately.

This is a great US case. I bet a lot of people will use this sensor for this purpose.

The sensor will be perfect for you then. Because it uses millimetre wave radar, it can tell that you are in the room even if you are not moving. I work at my desk for hours at a time and it knows that I am there. It only turns my light off when I physically leave the room.

Do we have any input on if adding zones is possible in the future?

I doubt it because it would potentielly drain the battery to fast. If u want zones, get the FP2.
The people have to realize that the manufacture, in this case Aqara, has a specific device Portfolio.
First there were no precense sensors available. Now, there are some and everbody is complainig about a cable. Manufacture reacts, no cable people complainig about zones 
But i think thats human nature

Oh, I thought this post was karma farming when I saw it my feed. Curiously enough it’s the crisp thing. Am I the only one who thinks the sensor is ugly? I hope it’s not the final design.

Personally, I think that it’s quite good considering Aqara has managed to fit so much into it and it’s small enough that you don’t really notice it. Remember, inside this small sensor it has:
- A chip for ZigBee
- A chip for Thread/Matter
- A PIR sensor
- A mmWave sensor
- A temperature sensor
- A humidity sensor
- A light sensor
- 2 batteries
- An indicator LED
- A circuit board to tie it all together
Quite impressive when you consider that it’s only competition will be from LaFaer, which has only a 3.5m presence sensing range, PIR to 7m and as far as I can tell, no light, temperature or humidity sensors built in and only has Thread (no ZigBee support) and it is bigger than the FP300. Also the FP300 has more versatility of movement for placement due to the ball joint angle adjustment rather than the hinged joint of the LaFaer sensor.

I didn’t realize it’s not multi-zone, that’s too bad. I thought it was a FP2 plus temp/humidity which would be perfect.
Still better than PIR alone though.

This sensor fills the gap for a battery sensor that can have mmWave for presence without a power cable. I refer to this post here.

Something like this would be amazing in my front room, which is a Living Room, Dining Room, Office Area, Kitchen and pass-through to the rear deck.
There are so many smart bulbs and smart plugs just in this area that can be triggered by zones or thermal changes.
I thought my motion/humidity/temperature detectors were the coolest things ever when I bought them. I never even imagined being able to buy something like the FP300!

Is the FP300 Matter capable and if so, are data such as temperature and humidity also displayed in Apple HomeKit?

Hi. Yes, Matter over Thread is available as well as ZigBee. And yes, the light, temperature and humidity sensors are exposed in HomeKit and can be used in automations.
