W600 thermostat: Collection of infos and open issues

Hello,

I switched to beta firmware in Aqara app and installed the new firmware ZigBee 0.0.0_2644. It was only possible to install the new firmware with resetting W600 install Matter protocol and then back to ZigBee.

The new firmware works as aspected, also with combination with T1 sensor.

I confirm, it works perfectly, there are no problems with a reasonable schedule at all.

Do you have any chart? So you say and external temperature input is ready now and the PID Algorythm is working great?

Nothing works for me. It’s a disaster.

I don’t look at the temperature of the W600 radiator, it’s the temperature of the room where the radiator is, everything is OK here.

It’s the temperature of the w100, in the middle of the room.

Yes, W100

Hi you can try to Reset the W600. Take 1 Battery out off the Thermostate. Reinsert and Recalibrate. Also you can Compensate the Temperature in the App. Hope this helps

It still doesnt reach target temperature with version 2644.

do aqara have a change log, so that we can see, what they think, what they have improved?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem so.
The update log during the last two firmware updates is very sparse and too general.

version 0.0.0_2543:

„Fix known issues, optimize user experience“

version 0.0.0_2644:

„Fix known issues and optimize the experience.“

Other competitors do this way better and much more transparent, e.g. SONOFF with a Firmware Changelog in the eWeLink Forum for the SONOFF TRVZB here.

It would be very welcome if Aqara would do similar and provide more details about firmware updates.

Is there any way i can update them without z2m and aqara bridge? Like reset, and update with the app?

I asked the Aqara Technical Support three weeks ago and their answer is basically „no“.

“Regarding your question about updating the Zigbee firmware without an Aqara hub, unfortunately, firmware updates for the W600 in Zigbee mode require an Aqara Zigbee 3.0 gateway (with version 4.3.8 or higher). The protocol switching (between Zigbee and Thread) does not trigger a firmware update.“

So you either need an Aqara Hub or use Zigbee2MQTT.

I’ve repeatedly asked that they give useful changelogs. They dont ever write anything in the changelog, for any products. @AqaraOfficial

The latest update has not been successful for me.
Schedules don’t work.
2 do not reach the temperatures. One heats up all the time, above the set temperature.
All devices reset but no success.

Hello, is the W600 tied to an external sensor?

Yes, W100

Hi, this problem has appeared recently. Re-bind the external thermometer. If you have a W100, give a sampling period of 10 minutes.

Specialists said they are working on this problem.

This is the W600 screen after reconnecting.

Thanks, but I’ve been doing that for a long time.
No improvement

Reconnect the W100 several times.
