Combi boiler Heating System

Hi Everyone.
I’m looking for some help with setting up my Combi boiler when the Aqara thermostat becomes available.

I’m looking at Radiator valves W600 , climate Sensor W100 (not sure if I need W100 in each room) and a relay to activate the boiler, don’t know which Relay to use.
Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Best wishes to you all. Christopher.

So I have done this very thing. I have W600 on main of my radiators bar some to keep a minimum flow through the system at all times.

I had an old on wall thermostat in the hall, that hooked up to the main program unit in my kitchen. The old thermostat just basically acted as a relay switch when it deactivated temp increase or decrease above the set value.

So I took a T2 relay switch and wired this in the place of the on wall thermostat, to act as the the new “thermostat”.

I then set up automations with the w600 radiator valves, W100’s, and T1 temp sensors. If temp was below set temp it would activate switch 1 on the T2 relay switch. This would then send a signal to the old programmer box in the kitchen to then turn the CH on for the boiler (just like the old thermosta). Using the smart schedules this automates all my room heating. I do have some rooms set up to only heat up when you are in them using the FP300 as well.

Note the second switch on the T2 can be set up to be a summer / winter switch to activate and deactivate all heating automations.

I then have other automations for turn it off. If all rooms are at temp then it turns off the T2 relay switch 1. This allowed for individual room heating calls to the boiler.

It works quite well. Just need the w600 bugs to be fixed to get it working really well.

So you need at minimum a relay switch, and some W600’s. If you want better temp accuracy them some T1 temp sensors linked to the W600 is what you want. Only get W100’s if you want rooms to be able to quickly change temperature without pulling out your phone. So for me this is the livingroom. All my other rooms are temp controlled via the smart schedules.

Hi, I wrote a group of lessons related to the heating system based on automation 2.0. You can use it as a guide.

I also recommend reading the explanation for lesson 1, it will help you create error-free automation (automation algorithm 2.0)

Thank you for sharing your thoughts this will help to get the heating system running.
I had a nest thermostat and app which was my first attempt at automation, now obsessed with Aqara/Apple home.
Best wishes. Christopher.

Hello, if you want accurate and operational control, you should take the W100. The temperature measurement frequency is adjustable from 1-10 minutes. Accuracy 0.2 ° C.
For information: T1 gives a transmission frequency of ~ 1 time per hour, or with a change of 0.5 ° C.
