Introducing the Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400 — Automations That Know Where You Are

Hey Aqara Community!

We’re thrilled to announce that the Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400 is officially joining the Aqara lineup! It brings true spatial intelligence to the smart home — sensing not just that someone is there, but where they are, so your automations keep up with how you actually live.

Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400

A next-gen 60GHz mmWave radar sensor that understands your space without a camera.

  • Multi-Target Tracking & Advanced Spatial Sensing: Real-time tracking of multiple people plus spatial awareness means your home knows who’s where, unlocking precise, zone-based automations that feel personal to each space.
  • 60GHz mmWave Radar Detection and AI Spatial Learning: High-frequency radar and an upgraded AI algorithm deliver more precise detection, stronger interference resistance, and steadier performance in real homes — with no camera, so there are no visual privacy concerns.
  • Dual-Protocol Flexibility, Cross-Ecosystem Access: Zigbee and Matter over Thread support give you flexibility across ecosystems. With or without an Aqara hub*, you can set up key spatial features in the Aqara Home app, then connect to major third-party ecosystems via Matter over Thread.
  • Flexible Installation and Broad Coverage: Adaptable mounting fits different room types and layouts, cutting blind spots while covering more with a single device. USB-C power keeps it running steadily over the long term.

*Requires a Matter Controller and Thread Border Router supported by the target ecosystem.

Where to buy

Think I’ll have to give this a try :ok_hand:t2:

happy to test this an integrated with my broader aqara setup

Does it expose the number of people detected over matter? Because this is something what I’m missing most in FP2. With this information I could e.g. trigger guest mode in home assistant automatically.

How long is the provided USB-C cable?

I’m looking to get a presence sensor, but I have heard they can be unreliable, working one moment and not another. Can anyone comment on how this one compares? Thanks!

Looking forward to trying this one as we use a few fp300’s around the house

Ordered two for my living room and kitchen! If i set 2 sensors opposite to one another do the mmWave interfere with each other?

First Update on Europe available for FP400 in ZigBee mode. From version 0.51 to 0.60.

I’ve been testing this out and really appreciate having 8 zone options available. I’m currently using 6. The main issue I’ve noticed is a slight lag in response time. When stepping into a zone configured to trigger a light, it takes a few seconds before the light actually turns on. Does anyone know how to improve the response time?"

This is definitely something for me to try. Im curious to see if the AI features can work out the difference between someone lying down and a cat moving around

I got one recently and it’s looking very accurate when tracking me in a space. I’ll be moving it soon to it’s permanent location in the living room.

I am not seeing number of people being pushed to home assistant from the M3 hub unfortunately. If there is a way I would love to hear how.

Hopefully it will let us adjust the delays, vs the 300 that doesn’t detect you when you come back unless you reset the delays to the default.
